My Bullseye Musings

About me…

I shot my first Bullseye match—officially known as Precision Pistol by the NRA and Match Pistol by the CMP—at the New Jersey State Championship in September 2007. Since then, I have competed in numerous matches across several states, including the National Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio.

Competitive shooting has provided me with lasting friendships and taught me an important lesson: you either win or you learn.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the sport is the camaraderie among competitors. Although we compete against one another, shooters are often the first to offer assistance when someone needs help with equipment, technique, or simply a sympathetic ear after a challenging match.

Through my involvement in the shooting sports, I have developed a broad range of technical skills, including reloading ammunition, firearm maintenance and repair, building 1911 pistols, and performing moderate to advanced gunsmithing operations.

I became a member of the Citizens Rifle and Revolver Club in 2005 and have served in several leadership roles, including President, Chief Range Officer, and Pistol Chairman. These positions have allowed me to contribute to the club’s growth while supporting fellow shooters and promoting the shooting sports.

Now retired, I am focused on working with our club’s Junior Pistol Program, helping to coach and mentor the next generation of competitive pistol shooters. Sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years is one of the most rewarding parts of my involvement in the sport.
